Ey up! Welcome to Gravel Pit, an emporium of delights where horticulture meets hip hop and the "holy trinity" of music, art, and plants comes to life.

Our Story
The Gravel Pit journey began way back in 2017. Founded by Danny Mager during a break from his career as a boom operator in film and TV, the shop first opened its doors in the Kelham Arcade after Danny's brother taught him how to make terrariums, which they began selling in small, independent shops across Sheffield.

We quickly outgrew our original home and moved to our flagship store on Abbeydale Road in July 2018, right in the heart of Sheffield's antiques quarter. Here we transformed the three rooms of 329 into a verdant haven for the Sheffield community.

When Leah's Yard was officially opened as a restored retails and creative hub in August 2024, Gravel Pit 2 opened its doors to new audiences with it's second location, joining a vibrant hub of local creators in the city centre.

The Vibe
Step inside and you'll find a maximalist approach to retail. We've traded bland for bold, creating an "Aladdin’s cave" atmosphere filled with good music, relaxed energy, and a dense jungle of greenery. Whether you’re a seasoned plant parent or just here for the records, we aim to give every visitor a unique experience that compels them to revisit.
