Originating from Mexico, the Opuntia Vulgaris is a unique looking cactus and is known as the Bunny Ear Cactus. It has lots of spikes which are called glochids, these are a pain to get out the skin so you must use gloves or newspaper to handle.
In a post apocalyptic scenario these are the perfect thing to eat if you run out of food. Supposed to taste like cucumber, a common staple of Mexican cuisine.

She needs bright light and will tolerate less in the winter months.
Water when the top few inches of soil are dry, she likes less water in winter.
She is used to dry air and hot conditions so mimic this the best you can in your home.
Not a good plant to have around small children or pets because of the little spikes she has.
